Organic Produce grown locally in Ottawa, right in your own yard!
Our goal at VegetablePatch.ca is to inspire organic living right within the city center. We make use of unused land in Ottawa, Canada, to create beautiful and healthy vegetable gardens. The resulting business is a wonderfully low impact means of producing and distributing sustainably grown market produce. We achieve this in two ways, through our land sharing projects and through our local basket delivery service. Get involved and together we shall infuse some much needed environmentally sustainable vitality directly into the city. What could possibly feel better?
!!! We are currently seeking to form relationships with residents who have productive edible fruit trees on their propery. We propose to come pick the fruit, clean-up the windfalls and divide the haul into several shares; a share of fruit for you, some for our CSA participants, and possibly a share donated to the local food bank. No sense in wasting delicious local fruit. Please contact us.
Stay informed about volunteer opportunities and other interesting news by joining our newsletter.
Cheers,
Jesse

Listen to Amrita Singh talk about VegetablePatch.ca on CBC Radio One's In Town & Out with Michael Bhardwaj.

Amrita Singh is part of the Living in Ottawa team. Living in Ottawa airs every weekday at 3 PM on CBC Television and is hosted by Maureen Welch. Recently Jesse (founder of VegetablePatch.ca) joined Amrita at her home to talk about how to prepare your own vegetable patch this fall for next year's growing season. They also talked through the ins and outs of planting garlic for next year. The segments were filmed and will appear on Living in Ottawa on Nov 10th and 13th respectively. The episodes will be posted here after they air and are available online.

Living in Ottawa is a show that guides viewers to places in and around the city and offers ideas and tips on how to best enjoy Ottawa.

When Amrita isn't reporting she's producing content for Living in Ottawa, and when she isn't working she's volunteering, reading, and generally living it up in our great city.

Amrita joins Michael Bhardwaj on In Town and Out every Saturday morning to feature one of her stories from Living in Ottawa.
